Key Aspect
Home Farm in Portree is a large mixed tenure development of 249 new homes which Lochalsh and Skye Housing Association is developing. Portree has been identified as one of the most housing stressed areas in the Highlands and this development will meet the affordable housing requirements in Portree over a period of some 5 years. Robertson Homes are also developing 50 houses for sale within the overall development.
This scheme will provide a total of 169 new affordable homes which are offered for both rent and homestake.
Phase One of the project provided 31 high quality new homes for rent and 10 for Homestake (a shared equity form of Low Cost Home Ownership). Phase Two of the project provided 25 homes for rent and 26 Homestake units. Phase Three provided 6 Homes for rent.
Phase One of the development utilised Ground Source Heat Pumps, and the remaining Phases have adopted a biomass district heating scheme.
