The works comprised the construction of a new build joint police and ambulance headquarters to be located in the proposed Business Park Development at Blar Mhor, Fort William.
The site was previously platformed under an enabling works Contract with I&H Brown.
The works comprised the erection of a new two storey Police Station with a single storey cell block to the rear, a single storey Ambulance Station annexe, and an annexe containing reception and interview rooms together with a secure yard area and outbuildings, roads, car parking, hard and soft landscaping other associated site development and servicing Works.
The construction generally had reinforced concrete ground floor slab; the cell Block shall had a suspended reinforced concrete ceilings; in-situ structural steel roof trusses finished with profiled metal sheeting; load-bearing cavity concrete blockwork walls with block outer leaf and finished internally with plaster; load-bearing and non-loadbearing internal partitions shall of concrete blockwork finished with plaster; the main 2-Storey area had traditional blockwork walls on the ground floor, reinforced concrete first floor slab, timber frame kit to second floor, suspended ceilings throughout, floor finishes, full mechanical, plumbing and electrical services. The Heating was via Air Source Heat Pumps.
The annexe for the Ambulance station was a timber frame construction with a reinforced suspended ground floor slab, profiled metal sheet roofing, suspended ceilings throughout, floor finishes, full mechanical and electrical services and decoration.
The annexe for the reception area was a timber frame construction with a reinforced suspended ground floor slab, profiled metal sheet roofing, suspended ceilings throughout, floor finishes, full mechanical and electrical services and decoration.
